“It’s about obsession and delusion. The surrealism of Hoffmann’s fantasy life clashing head on with the rugged surroundings of the Red Hook working port should generate plenty of sparks.” Hoffmann’s moving museum of memory in an imagined Europe of the late 20th century. The scene is constructed on the pier of the Red Hook Marine Terminal from elements in common use at the port such as shipping containers and pallets. More than 100 people—singers, musicians, creative team, longshoremen and technical personnel—were involved in bringing Les contes d’Hoffmann to the waterfront. for production photos click HERE |
