The incandescent Venezuelan soprano María Brea returns to VPR with an intimate song recital, streamed live from home, accompanied by her husband, pianist Colby Charnin. The program will include traditional Sephardic songs on the themes of love and courtship, songs of longing by Debussy and Bachelet, magical songs by Mendelssohn and Lazar Weiner, lullabies by Federico Ruiz, Antonio Estevez, and Isaac Reingold, and the unforgettable and heartbreaking “Gracias a la vida” by Violeta Parra.
